Thermal Imaging Camera

Homes produce about a third of our green house gases so reducing heat loss in homes helps to reduce our carbon emissions. Not only that, but it can also save you money. Having a well insulated property and keeping the heat in will help reduce energy bills. Your home or premises may be losing heat in the following ways:-

  • 25% through your roof
  • 25% through your windows
  • 35% through your walls
  • 15% through your floor

Tarvin Environment Group are hiring a Thermal Imaging Camera to help residents and businesses identify the areas of their home or premises that loses the most heat. The camera measures the surface temperatures and translates these temperatures into colours that are shown on the screen. From theses images you can see immediately where you are losing the most heat, and which areas need more insulation. Residents and businesses may find that they have:-

  • Gaps in loft insulation or inadequate insulation at loft opening.
  • Insufficient depth of loft insulation (270 mm or 10 ½ inches recommended)
  • Lack off or failed cavity wall insulation. Gaps in cavity walls can lead to heat loss.
  • Lack off or failed double glazing units. Leaks can often be detected around window fixtures.
  • Draughts caused by poorly fitted doors, cat flaps, letter boxes and vents.

If you are interested in having your property or premises assessed then please contact Andrew Evans on 741124 or Hilary Banner on 740262 or email enquiries@tarvinenvironment.org.uk  Each home owner will receive an assessment highlighting the worst offending areas with advice to help them take the appropriate action.
